Join us on September 18 for Harvest Feastival, an epic evening of incredible food, friends, arts and culture, right here at UBC Vancouver!
Celebrate the start of the school year (and homecoming week!) by spending a cozy fall evening surrounded by 700 of your closest friends, family, and colleagues under an outdoor tent, at this beloved campus celebration.
The experience includes a family-style feast of six locally-sourced dishes, followed by an exclusive lineup of arts and cultural experiences curated especially for Feastival guests, at UBC’s world-class Arts and Culture District. Check out the menu and program guide below.

Harvest Feastival is a collaboration between Campus + Community Planning, Sage Catering, and the UBC Arts and Culture District.

Harvest Feastival Menu
UBC’s Chefs have prepared an incredible outdoor feast featuring six locally-sourced dishes, with a commitment to sustainability. The dishes are served family-style so you’ll have the chance to try it all!
To Start
Candied Salmon Niçoise Salad.
A West Coast take on the French classic, with UBC Farm baby greens, green beans, steamed Pugly potatoes, kalamata olives, free range egg, honey shallot vinaigrette

UBC Farm Beet & Grapefruit Tiradito.
A vibrant, plant-based ceviche inspired by Peruvian flavors, in citrusy leche de tigre with mint, radish, habanero pepper & fried ginger

The Main Event
Char Siu Pork Belly.
Slow-roasted pork belly glazed with garlic, ginger, and serrano chilies, served alongside creamy celeriac purée and sautéed king pea tips.

Coconut & Turmeric Penne.
A fragrant pasta dish with bok choy, swiss chard, cherry tomatoes, toasted coconut, and garlic chili crisp

Lemon Curd & Blackberry Beignets.
Light and airy filled pastry, dusted in cinnamon sugar

Black Cherry & Dark Chocolate Torte.
Rich dark chocolate torte paired with tart black cherries, toasted pistachios, and a coconut whipped cream topping

Look for the special Climate-Friendly Food (CFF) labels throughout the festival, marking dishes that are not only delicious but also crafted with minimal environmental impact (green logo). Harvest Festival Arts and Culture Crawl
Drop in and out of these after dinner shows and performances from 7-9pm — they’re all free with your festival wristband!
7:30-8pm | UBC Symphony Orchestra @ Chan Center
An extraordinary musical experience that offers a rare glimpse into the artistry of orchestral rehearsal and performance, providing attendees with an exclusive behind-the-scenes perspective, positioning you directly behind the musicians as they rehearse—offering you the conductor’s view of this magnificent ensemble in action.
7:30-9pm | Abbas Akhavan: One Hundred Years @ Belkin Gallery
Discover ephemeral installations, video and sculpture that blur the meanings and distinctions between stage, set, gameboard, studio and gallery. These works continue Akhavan’s interest in institutional and domestic spaces that contend with the coexistence of hospitality and hostility.
7-9pm Lobby Bar, 8-8:45pm Show | Harvest Improv @ Frederic Wood Theatre
UBC Theatre & Film presents a side-splitting show featuring some of Canada’s best improv artists. Led by Vancouver’s improv legend Allen Morrison and his comedy team; these UBC alumni are guaranteed to tickle your funny bone. Enjoy bevvys including espresso drinks, beer & wine.
7:30-8:30pm | Celebration of Mehregan @ Museum of Anthropology, Haida House
Celebrate the rich heritage of Persian culture and light, friendship and love at summer’s end, known as Mehregan, an ancient festival for Mithra (Mehr), leading to autumn equinox and harvest celebrations. Music by the Kereshmeh Ensemble, refreshments and more. Entire Museum is open to Feastival guests until 9PM.
9-11pm | Harvest After Party @ Koerner’s Pub
Kick it old school by ending your evening at this laid back student favourite since 1965. Young musicians in their weekly student showcase provide the perfect nightcap to your Harvest Feastival experience.
