Harvest Feastival 2024!
An epic evening of feast, friends, and fun at Harvest Feastival 2024!
September 19 marked the return of Harvest Feastival, a beloved campus celebration that brought together students, faculty, staff, residents, and community members to celebrate the start of the school year (and the start of Homecoming week).
This year’s event marked 10 years since the first Harvest Feastival in 2014 and after several years on hiatus due to the pandemic, the UBC campus was clearly ready to connect and celebrate at this much-loved event!
Guests gathered under the bright lights of a big tent to share an incredible family-style feast prepared by chefs from Sage Catering. The menu featured sustainably-minded dishes marked with UBC’s Climate Friendly Food labels. Dishes marked as climate friendly are not only delicious, but also crafted with minimal environmental impact, helping community members to make informed choices that support both their taste buds, and the planet. The chocolate pecan bourbon cupcakes were particularly popular among feastival guests young and old!
Throughout dinner, surprise performances from the UBC Arts Staff Choir and UBC Opera students delighted guests of all ages before the amazing UBC Thunderbird Marching Band led everyone on a musical march to the Arts and Culture District for a special after-dinner arts and culture crawl featuring special performances at the Museum of Anthropology, inspiring opera at the Old Auditorium, a hysterical Alumni Improv show at Frederick Wood Theatre, and guided art tours at the Belkin Art Gallery.
