Snack, Sip, and Socialize at Chef Challenge!
Join us for the return of this beloved campus celebration, as the UBC community comes together for a culinary showdown like no other! After a three-year hiatus, the competition is hotter than ever, with four fabulous chef teams each competing for your vote (and year-long bragging rights!) by preparing a tasty bite perfectly paired with a local brew.
Along with delicious bites and brews, enjoy live music, lawn games, friendly competition, and friendlier faces—we hope to see you there!

This year’s theme is…
Summertime means longer days, sunnier skies, and of course…dining outdoors. So what better theme to celebrate these special summer activities than a Picnic Party!
This year’s theme will challenge competitors to come up with a picnic-inspired bite, perfectly paired with a local brew. Guests (and judges) will sample each dish and pairing, and vote for their favourite at the end of the evening.

- UBC Students and Musqueam Residents – $27
- UBC Staff, Faculty, Alumni | UNA and Acadia Park Residents – $32
- Visitors – $45
- Children (3-10 years) – $5

Meet the Musicians
Food, Fun and Flamenco! Enjoy live music from Gundyr Guitars. The two classically trained UBC Music students will be performing a mix of Latin pieces, including flamenco and melancholic ballads.
Meet the Judges
Judges will taste and score each pairing for: creativity & fit to theme; serving presentation; nutritional balance; flavour, taste, texture, doneness; and how the dish complements your beer pairing. The judging panel includes:
